LD:NorthEast is a charity supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to live life their way — from birth right through to older life.
About LD:NorthEast
We are a local charity supporting people across North Tyneside who have lived experience of learning disabilities, learning difficulties and autism.
Our work is all about bringing people together. We aim to tackle social isolation and the effects of loneliness by supporting people with the basics we feel are important to happiness and well-being.
We believe everyone deserves to have fun, spend time with friends and feel good about themselves — from birth right through to older life. Our vision is to achieve equality and social inclusion so people can live their life their way.

Learn moreFun, Friends & Feel Good
Three pillars at the heart of everything we do — because everyone deserves all three.
Fun
01We organise a wide range of activities and events, many free to access — games, sport, dance, music, days and nights out — all based on what people tell us they want to do.
Friends
02We help people develop and maintain friendship groups through activities, social groups and informal drop-in support. One-to-one support helps people access their community and everyday activities.
Feel Good
03We support people with health appointments and activities for positive physical and mental well-being — dance classes, music, singing, art and craft, healthy cooking and sport.
